Aloha Ever After is happy to do weddings in any location on Kauai. We enjoy doing weddings not only at beaches but also on private properties, gardens, vacation rentals, churches or any other location where you would like to have your wedding.
A few of the more popular public beaches location sites are listed below to help make it easier for you to choose a location from home.
Lydgate Beach (East Side)
Located in Wailua on the east side of Kauai (next to Kapaa) Lydgate Beach is a hidden jewel and our personal favorite. Since most visitors do not know about this beach until after they arrive it is rare to see another wedding there (unlike the crowd of weddings at Shiprecks!). Every beach on Kauai is public, so there is never a guarantee that you will have the beach to yourself, but this is the most likely of the larger beaches to find yourself completely alone. If there is someone they will likely be far away at the other end of the beach fishing or you won't really see anyone at all. For this reason we recommend Lydgate beach as the best beach to get married on on Kauai if you do not have more than 10 - 20 guests.
Hanalei Bay (North Shore)
Hanalei Bay has a variety of backdrops: the pier, the mountains and the beach. It is a beautiful bay, calm in the summer, large waves in the winter and thus has many visitors. The 2 main places to get married on Hanalei Bay are down by the pier and by the pine trees, but of course you can choose to get married where ever you like best.
Shipwrecks Beach (South Shore)
Shipwrecks Beach (aka Keoniloa Bay) is located in Poipu and is a long, lovely beach, but has a lot of people pretty much every day. It's the most popular beach on Kauai to get married on, so depending on the day you may be one of 1-6 weddings happening at the same time which can understandably be a bummer for many people! For this reason I only recommend Shipwrecks as a second choice in case of rain, not as a first choice.
Kiahuna Plantation (South Shore)
Kiahuna Plantations is located in Poipu. This is another great hidden jewel. There are a variety of places to get married here, by the beach or in a garden by ponds and flowers etc. It's private (yes there is a small site fee) and you won't have too many people around, but there will be some as it's a place for guests to stay and eat (condos and a great restaurant). Ask for more details.
Mahaulepu (South Shore)
Mahaulepu is located past Shipwrecks beach in Poipu down a long dirt road. It's a beautiful beach off the beaten path and often there are monk seals on the sand at the end of the beach resting. There are plenty of pine trees for shade and the gates close at 6 pm.
You can have your wedding any way and any where you want - you're not limited to what you see posted on this site! If you want something you don't see, just call Aloha Ever After and we'll help create your vision.
